Before you order
Will it replace a proper extractor fan?
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. An installed hood ducted outside moves far more air. This is for kitchens that don't have one, and for cooking that happens away from the stove - hot pot, indoor grills, air fryers and bench-top cooking.
Does it need a filter I have to replace?
It runs on airflow and negative ion output rather than a consumable carbon cartridge, so there is no subscription filter to buy. Wipe the intake clean as part of your normal kitchen clean.
How close to the pan should it sit?
Beside it, within about 20-30 cm, at roughly the same height as the rim. Close enough to catch the plume, far enough that it isn't in the heat.
Is it loud?
It's a small fan at 8W, so it is quieter than an installed hood on full. You can talk over it comfortably.
Can I run it off a power bank?
Yes. It is USB powered and rechargeable, which is what makes it practical to move to the dining table.
